A 1920’s Selfie You Need To See!

I bet you did not know that “selfies” date back almost a century. Who woulda thought our ancestors were the ones that started the trend!

A new addition to the Oxford Dictionary, a selfie is defined as “a photograph that one has taken of oneself, typically one taken with a smartphone or webcam and uploaded to a social media website.”

A user on Reddit recently posted these pictures of some dapper gentlemen taking a selfie in the early 1920’s. Some people say there is evidence of the selfie dating back all the way to 1909. As you can see, the technique has not changed much at all.

Selfie from the 1920'sselfie-400_0Here is one more century old selfie. I am not too sure it is the same guys in a different location. It is not the picture from the selfie taken above. Either way, it is still a pretty sweet selfie. Be sure to share these with your friends! If you have any information about the pictures above or have an old ancestor selfie, send it our way. We would love to feature it here with these.
